Today is our 10 year wedding anniversary...it's hard to believe it's been 10 years. If I weren't so tired I would post a wedding photo but I'm too lazy to scan it. We've been blessed beyond measure. We used to talk about whether or not we'd make it to double digits. Being married to someone 18 years older/younger is sometimes a challenge. It's about compromise, something I've learned alot about the last 10 years. It hasn't always been good, but it's always been our bad or our good...the main sourse of our strength and love comes from God. We both believe God put us together for some reason that we have yet to discover. We seek his purpose in our life together and for our family every day. If we did not have God as our common thread I would not be writing this today.
The last couple years of our marrige were challenging, as we made some pretty radical decisions that were not good for our family. We leaned hard on God and learned alot about ourselves, our marriage and abou to our plan. We spent many nights praying and crying out for God to redeem us. Thankfully, God has blessed us so much and we are so grateful for being able to take the bad and turn it to good, for our marriage and our family.
Here are some highlights from our 10 year adventure...
- We've had 5 children: Sophia, Isaac, Lily and Oliver (Olivia was stillborn at 17 weeks and is in Heaven with our Saviour)...
- Dave adopted Jordan and became his Father...
- Tiffany went to college, grad school and eventually met John and married him
- We bought and sold, 5 lots at Bald Head Island...
- Spent a whole year going back and forth to Raleigh, NC to look for a home so we could relocate to be closer to BHI...had a contract in hand and couldn't sign it...
- Built a beach house after standing on the lot dreaming for 2 years, then 3 years later sold it after a disasterous decision to move to Enola...
- Moved 4 times in Chambersburg and one time to Enola and back...
- Vacationed to Disney World 7 times...
- Owned 9 cars, currently have 2, Jordan totaled one and destroyed another
- We've skied North, West and in Central PA....
- Made it to Europe (Paris and Belgium)
- Dave has flown so much the last year he earned companion status on Southwest and I can fly free for a year anywhere he goes...
So we'll see where the next 10 takes us...who knows what we will encounter, but we are looking forward to the adventure!!
