Fireproof

Fireproof...you know you've heard it! Everyone is doing it! Come on, jump in! Join us!!! Well if you haven't heard of it you need to, especially if you're a married person! It started with a Love Dare book written by someone that needed to challenge him/herself to stay in love with their spouse. Eventually it became movie, which then turned into the new bible study at church for married couples! You might be thinking, I don't need this I'm happily married...la tee dum dum, don't get me wrong, but, YES YOU NEED IT, EVERYONE NEEDS IT!

Our church, FUMC, offered it as a married group activity... but a few people thought small groups would be nice, so we joined one and have been very happy with the result. It's been refreshing to see that, A) the grass is NOT greener somewhere else (maybe they just fertilize more often than we do!), B) everyone has problems, some similar and some different, but they still have them, and C) that God really is in all things and puts us with other people who can help to encourage us and teach us more to help us grow closer to Him.

It's been fun getting to know the other couples. And the Fireproof study has really helped us to learn more about God and his purpose for us as a married couple. I highly recommend this to everyone who is married. Not everything in the movie applied to our life, but we got alot out of it anyway and I guess you can kind-of think of it as damage control...hence the title 'Fireproof'.
